Halloween Photo Shoot :)

So today Mommy says we are going on a walk in the woods! Yeah! We haven't been there for almost 2 weeks! Mommy packed a bag of stuff (Hmm, what's that? Smells like dogs...) and a couple of pumpkins (why do we need pumpkins for a walk), then we went to pick up Jewels, then we drove and drove and drove! I didn't think we ere ever going to get there. Finally Mommy stopped and let us out of the van. I jumped out and ran around in circles I was so happy.



Jewels was running around too, smelling here and there. There were trees, and leaves, and great smells everywhere. We went down a cool path in the woods, then back to the van. I thought, oh no, we're not leaving already are we? Nope, Mommy had other plans, she put a devil costume on me and made me sit so she could take pictures :(



I really tried to sit still, really I did, but I got bored and started tossing a stick around. Then it landed behind me, so I had to turn around and try and get it. I didn't really more, though, right Mommy?



She decided it was too shady where she had me sitting, so she wanted to move to a sunnier spot. Yeah, we get to walk again! Now Jewels gets a turn at sitting still and I get to run around and play :)



She only had to sit, she didn't have to wear a costume, that's not fair!



Ha, ha, Mommy put a with costume on Jewels. She doesn't look to happy to be a witch! Or maybe that's just her witchy face :)

Next its my turn again :( Mommy wanted to try something different, but the feathers were tickling me, so as soon as this picture was taken I grabbed the feathers and tore them to pieces. What fun!



Finally pictures are over and we can go for another little walk before we have to go. Mommy made me wear the silly devil costume because she was hoping to take some more pictures. How come Jewels doesn't have to wear a costume!



But she does have to wear a coat all the time and that is sorta like having to wear a costume, isn't it?

I don't want to go yet Mommy, throw me another stick...



What a wonderful morning we had, I can't wait to go again (without the costumes and having to sit still for pictures).

It's My 2nd Birthday Today!

Yeah! It's my birthday! I have had a wonderful day so far. Our walk at the park first (of course). And we went to my favourite park (of course).
We see a blue heron there, or at least Mommy does (I've never seen it) almost every time we go. It was in the pond again today. Mommy tried to take pictures, but she says they are too blurry. I'm gonna show you anyways :) See ...



Then we walked over to the river to fetch sticks, but they kept sinking and disappearing! Where did they go!



When we got home Mommy said she had a wonderful surprise for me! She put a party hat on my head :( What kinda surprise is that!



But wait, what's that, it smells really good! It's a birthday cake for me :) YUMMY!!!



Can I have it? Can I have it now?



More surprises! A present! Just for me, look at all the cool paper to rip. What fun!
What do you mean there is something other then paper in there. The paper's the fun part :)



Mommy said it was time to sit down and relax for a bit now. Aww! I want to do more stuff! Great news, Jewels is going for a walk, so we're going too. I don't have to relax at all! Yeah



Look that tree is all burnt. I wonder how that happened?



Time to cross the river. Jewels is taking the high road :) A log ...



I'd rather take the low road and stay in this nice cool water :)



Wow, what a fun walk we had. We'll have to go back there again sometime (I hope). Now back home for a nap, supper(yum) and then I get to play with my new toys. I love birthdays!!!!!

My HAPPY CANADA DAY

It's Canada Day today, time to celebrate our country and to take a vacation and spend the day having fun. We started our celebration off at my favourite park.

First we played ball at the tennis courts. Mommy says its so I can work off some of my excess energy. What is excess energy?

I'm going to get you, you crazy ball!



Look Bert, I can bounce too (or at least jump!)



Then we went for our walk through the woods and down the paths. We usually walk here with Beau (he's a german shepherd friend) and Zanara and Mandy, but today it's just Mommy and me.



Before we left to go home, I got to dig for rocks in the river. This looks like a nice big one!



What a great walk we had, I can't wait to go back again (hopefully tomorrow).

After lunch, Mommy's lunch not mine :), we went out to the garden to weed. I was doing a great job helping, I worked sooo hard, I even got some of the flowers in my hair :)



And when Mommy threw one of the fancy rocks back on to the rock pile I even went over and brought it back to her! Wasn't that nice of me?

Then the best part of the day arrived. We were going to the beach with Jewels. Yeah! Swimming! There's nothing I love more the swimming! (except maybe eating)
Not only swimming, but fetching sticks. Even more fun!

Jewels doesn't like swimming as much as me, she likes to search the weeds for bugs. What's she going to do with a bug! Mommy says she thinks she's a mountain goat!

I hope we never go home :) What fun, running, playing, swimming :)



Oh, no, time to go :( But at least it's cause we are going home for supper :) A barbeque! Yummy smells. Then we're going to sit outside (I'll make sure they throw a ball for me to fetch). And then fireworks! Mommy says alot of dogs are scared of fireworks, but they don't scare me (unless they are really close).

You want to know the bestest thing about Canada Day, it's only 3 days before my birthday! Yeah! I just know I'm going to get lots of treats and presents, I can hardly wait:)

I hope your Canada Day has been as wonderful as mine, mmm, I think I smell the barbeque :)



A little update, it is now 7:30pm and I'm thinking maybe I am afraid of fireworks this year :( I've already heard some scary noises, don't want to sit outside anymore. :(

Me and My Hips!

I went to the vet today for a preassessment appointment. They had to make sure I was ok to be put under anaesthetic to have my hips xrayed again. I had them xrayed back in April 2009 when I was only 10 months old and they didn't look so great :( There was even some mention of hip dysplasia. I don't like big words that sound scary! After the last xrays Mommy put me on Sasha's Blend and salmon oil, took me to the chiropractor on a regular basis and taught me how to swim.



We've been walking alot too, to keep me fit (and handsome :) Mommy wants to have my hips rechecked now that I'm all growed up so she knows if everything is working! All I know is I love going to the chiropractor and swimming and walking and the supplements just taste yummy!



We walked into the vets office and I was greeted by lots of nice ladies who were there just to pet me :) Then I got weighed, I was 88lbs! When we went into the office to visit the vet, she said I was a bit too round :( I need to loose a few pounds cause the extra weight isn't good for my joints. Oh, oh, that means less food and treats. Not good :(
She also said I have lots of muscle (Of course I do, I'm a big strong boy!) and good leg extension (what ever that means). Mommy was smiling alot, so that must be a good thing.
Everything looked good,so next wednesday I have to go in for my new xray. Cross your fingers for me!



Meanwhile, I won't be getting as much food as I deserve for supper today!

We went to the Beach!

Last sunday we found a nice quiet beach where I could fetch sticks and run around and play!
First we walked down this little path in a field until we got to a cliff. Wow! Nice view!



But there's water down there! I want to play in the water! Can we go down the cliff? come on, let's go!



Julie and Jewels showed Mommy and I the path down to the lake. Yeah! Mommy threw lots and lots of sticks and I fetched them all! There were so many to choose from, that I decided to bring I couldn't just bring one back.



Jewels climbed the hills and looked for bugs! She loves hunting bugs, not sure why, she never catches them!



The swans were coming to get me, so Mommy started throwing the sticks a different direction :) She was afraid they were stalking me. Silly Mommy, I'm not scared of a couple of birds!



We saw a toad, well at least Mommy did, I missed it, to busy looking for sticks.



Mommy says its time to go :( But I'm not ready! Throw another one please?!? Just one more, maybe two, no more then three, ok?



Boy, what a fun day Jewels and I had. I bet Jewels is dreaming about bugs.



I'm going to dream about fetching sticks and swimming :)

Mud Bath Techniques by Lite

My buddy Lite wanted to show me the correct technique for having a mud bath. You know, the best way to get the full theraputic results!
First lay flat on your belly in the mud.



Then flop to your side like so,



squiggle around a whole bunch to get the mud under the fur and down to the skin,



roll over on to your back and move your hips back and forth,



and voila, a proper coating of mud.



Now its my turn,
Flop on my belly,



Ok, here I go ... Over on my side to squiggle, Oooo, a stick, grab that instead



Ok, Let's try again, look at Mommy to see if she thinks this is a good idea, nope, not a good idea ...



Why would I want to get my beautiful tail all muddy!
